Six months ago, Ralph Lauren model, Filippa Hamilton felt the dissatisfaction that the company she once considered her “second family” gave her. What she received, was a termination letter describing why the company was firing her.
This sucker punch of a letter stated that she was a very important part of their imaging and branding but, was dismissed because of her “inability to meet the obligations of her contract.”
A photoshopped image of Filippa in a recent Ralph Lauren ad caught the world by surprise as it displayed an overly-waifish-looking female with a warped figure, which quickly grabbed the media’s attention.
Realizing their editing mistake, Ralph Lauren issued this apology:
“For over 42 years we have built a brand based on quality and integrity. After further investigation, we have learned that we are responsible for the poor imaging and retouching that resulted in a very distorted image of a woman’s body. We have addressed the problem and going forward will take every precaution to ensure that the caliber of our artwork represents our brand appropriately.”
Filippa stands at 5′10″ and weighs 120lbs, and has maintained that weight within the 8 years that she was part of the Ralph Lauren family…..her “second family”.
Perhaps, instead of firing this beautiful, so-called “fat” girl, they oughta bounce that retarded, un-skilled image editor who attempted to give the poor thing an anorexic, Gumby body.
Filippa talks about her termination from Ralph Lauren! What a sweetheart. I don’t feel she deserved this.
